Molly Lefebure – Year of election 2010

Molly Lefebure’s early study of opiates and work with a pathologist led her to write several crime novels, also adapted as radio plays.  She is the author of two outstanding biographies about Coleridge and his wife, focusing on Coleridge’s drug addiction (Bondage of Opium and Bondage of Love), and has also written about Thomas Hardy.  Her interest in the Lake District has led her to write books for both adults and children set in that beautiful area.  She is well-known for her accuracy of detail, and her work has been called “elegant, scholarly, and utterly convincing.”
