Imtiaz Dharker – Year of election 2010
Imtiaz Dharker is a poet and artist whose most recent book of poems is Leaving Fingerprints (2009). She illustrates all her books with selections of her own drawings. Home, freedom, journeys, displacement, communal conflict and gender politics are recurrent themes in her work. She is also a documentary film-maker and was awarded a Silver Lotus Award for Best Short Film in 1980.
