A.S. Byatt talks to fellow novelist Philip Hensher about the experience of having her portrait created, and reflects on the tradition of painting not from life but from interior imagining.
This event is part of 'Portraits of Writers', a series of talks in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery, to coincide with the exhibition 'On Paper: Portraits of Writers', which will run in the Gallery until February 2013.
